LOCAL WALKS FROM OUR B&B
Here at Riverside B&B we have
some of the best walking in the Derbyshire Peak District, right on our doorstep. These
walks range from easy to strenuous and pass through some of the most spectacular
scenery in Britain - The Manifold Valley, Dovedale, Beresford Dale, Biggin Dale
and Wolfscote Dale. We have put together a selection of walks in laminated
wallets which you can take along with you. These walks vary in length from short
1 mile locals to 25 mile all dayers, all walks are circular, and most pass tea
rooms or local pubs where you can stop for refreshments. We can of course fix
you up with a packed lunch and fill your flasks, please ask. Also, we have
laminated 1:25000 maps of the White Peak you may use.
Obviously by far the
most popular local walk is the Manifold Way which is covered on another page.
This can be selected on the local area tool bar at the top of the page.
Riverside
local walks range in length from 1 to 12 miles. Luckily, they mostly take in one
of seven public houses, which are :- The Manifold Inn at Hulme End, The
Greyhound at Warslow, The Black Lion at Butterton, The Staffordshire Knot at
Sheen, The Devonshire at Hartington, The George at Alstonefield, Ye Old Royal
Oak at Wetton and The Watts Russell at Hopedale. All of these purvey fine cask
conditioned ales and a varied range of excellent food, basically we are spoiled
for choice!
Tea rooms are at Wetton Mill where you are assured of a
warm welcome from Jannette and crew, and at Lee House on the Manifold Way, Hartington where we recommend the
Beresford Tea Rooms in the market place, Parsley Hay on the Tissington trail and
at Milldale where you will find Polly's Pantry. There are also refreshments
available at Dovedale car park and at Ilam hall.
We can always advise on
local walks, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, please ask.
