In 2011 the old sealed up railway tunnels on the Monsal Trail were completely refurbished and opened up to allow 8.5 miles of continuous cycle trail between Buxton and Bakewell. The project was funded as part of the wider Pedal Peak District project to promote cycling opportunities in the Park.
This new route is sure to become a "firm favourite" with all cyclists.
